Thank you for your interest in our stream. Controls and optimization can be viewed as a branch of applied mathematics, and has an in interdisciplinary nature, with applications ranging from robotics, to industrial automation, defense and space, financial systems and biological systems to name a few. We are always looking for motivated students who have a passion and an intuition for mathematics and its applications to real world problems. Our past students are placed in several reputed organisations, research labs and academic institutions, both in India and abroad.

Our goals for Research students:

  • The development of a strong technical background and a thorough understanding of current literature
  • The identification of research problems and innovative solutions to these problems
  • The ability to present their research in highly reputed conferences and journals
  • The development of personal communication and presentation skills that are needed to maximize visibility in the research community and ability to succeed in job interviews
  • Experience in designing and running experiments.
